How to Survive an Indefinite Blackout
What will you do if the power goes off and never turns on again?
Solar Flares and Wars are a serious threat to the power grid, but you don't have to be at its mercy. Here's how.
It’s actually one of the most overlooked worst-case scenarios that we meagre humans have no way to control. Not even all the technology we have so far can prevent a very possible sudden doom for civilization. A complete knock out of the entire world’s electrical grid due to a solar flare.
Any wires with electricity running through them will literally melt to the ground. Everything will be powered off, taking years to power up again. I am not kidding you, you can look it up.
It happened before but back then only a small part of the world was using electricity, so the impact was minimal. At that time all the telegram wires across the world melted to the ground in molten puddles. Luckily it wasn’t noticed by anyone else since most of the world didn’t use electricity yet.
Now, imagine that same event happening today. Everything would change suddenly. It would take years to replace the power plants, all the wires crossing the country, and the machines and electronics we use can never be used again.
It very well could happen and we can do to prepare for it.
However, there are ways to survive the impending doom.
Your best protection is prevention. Scientists are constantly watching the sun and can give us earthlings some advanced notice.

A SOLAR FLARE DOESN’T CARE IF YOU’RE ON OR OFF GRID, SOLAR POWER OR WIND.
Faraday Cage
It’s debatable if this device helps with a solar flare, it’s more protection for an EMP caused from a high-altitude nuclear explosion. It does have benefits though in the event of a solar flare.
As mentioned, anything with electricity running through it will melt, so as long as whatever you put in your faraday cage is turned off, battery removed, no electricity what so ever, will have a better chance of working after the solar flare has passed.
You could build your own after watching a 100 hours of YouTube videos. Stay tuned for an easier way.
Unplug and Power Off
You see, a solar flare isn’t just going to attack the power lines running along the road, they will go directly to your electrical supply from the sky. Unplugging many things will leave them without a trace of electricity but many newer appliances might have a small power source to maintain their computer chips when it’s turned off.
Those things will most likely die unless in a faraday cage. Since solar flares kill electricity, keeping things without any power running through them is the best option.
USB Your Digital Life
Whatever you have saved online or on your computer you going to need an offline backup.

In the horrific event of a solar flare you're going to need an offline data bank, a place your digital files are safe.
All cloud services will cease to exist due to there being no way to transmit files even if the location they're saved at survives.
